I'm So Glad

Here's my card for June's first Viva la Verve sketch.  I used the layout to make a Father's Day card to give to my dad.  Since he'll be out of town for the holiday, I gave it to him yesterday and it got a thumbs up!

I'm So Glad You're My Dad card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps from Verve Stamps
I created a mostly monochromatic design with a pop of metallic gold.  The large kraft panel was covered with a pair of brown patterned paper panels in my favorite pattern combo--dots and stripes.  I stamped the "I'm so glad you're my dad" sentiment from Verve's Father Figure set in brown pigment ink on a cream pierced square, then added that on top.  A big gold pierced star die cut was placed at the top of the polka dotted panel using foam tape. The finished panel was adhered to a coordinating brown card base.

Materials Used:
Father Figure stamp set (Verve Stamps); Memento Luxe Rich Cocoa ink (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); Soft Suede cardstock (Stampin' Up!); Kraft cardstock (Papertrey Ink); gold paper (Target); Documented 6x6 paper pad (Simple Stories); Die-namics Pierced Square STAX and Pierced Star STAX dies (My Favorite Things); foam tape
