Celebrate with Style
I'm playing along with the current Mix It Up challenge at SugarPea Designs. My card incorporates both the sketch and elements from the inspiration photo.
I fashioned a cool pair of shades using the SugarCuts Brainy Bookmarks dies. The glasses were cut from black cardstock. I filled in the lenses with sparkly silver cardstock, then coated the frames with a gray irRESISTible Pico Embellisher. The fine tip of the embellisher made it super easy to apply the glossy medium to the tiny die cut.
While the glasses dried, I put together the rest of the card. The striped panel is from SPD's It's a Celebration paper pad. I trimmed it down a bit and matted it on pink cardstock before adhering it to a lime green card base. I die cut a wide stitched banner piece from pink cardstock and stamped the "celebrate with style" sentiment from the Celebrte All the Things set on it. After adhering the sentiment panel to the cardfront, I added the glasses on top, using foam tape for dimension. A trio of sparkly silver sequins arranged around the sentiment finished off the design.
Materials Used:
Celebrate All the Things stamp set, It's a Celebration paper pad, SugarCuts Brainy Bookmarks dies (SugarPea Designs); Memento Tuxedo Black ink, Gray Flannel. irRESISTible Pico Embellisher (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); Limeade Ice and Hibiscus Burst cardstock (Papertrey Ink); Basic Black cardstock (Stampin' Up!); silver cardstock (Michaels); Die-namics Stitched Jumbo Fishtail Banner STAX dies (My Favorite Things); silver sequins; foam tape
