Dachshund Through the Snow

I love a good pun, so the Happy Howlidays stamp set from Lawn Fawn is one of my favorites!  I used the set and one of its punny sentiments for this card for the current winter/snow theme challenge at Lawnscaping.

Dachshund Through the Snow card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps from Lawn Fawn
I made a simple snowy scene from a light blue embossed panel with a pair of die cut shimmery white "snowbanks" layered along the bottom.  The raised flakes were rubbed with a light coating of Delicata White Shimmer ink to highlight them.  So pretty!  I filled in the scene with the set's dachsund image.  The image was colored with Copic markers and cut out with the matching die.  I added a fun hat, also colored with markers and embellished with a bit of white flock for a fluffy look.  The images were put in place with foam tape.

I stamped the "dachshund through the snow" sentiment on narrow red cardstock strips, then placed them near the top of the panel.  The words were accented with a trio of silver sequins scattered around them.  The finished panel was matted on sparkly silver cardstock, then adhered to a red card base.
