Snappy Birthday
Here's my card for the current challenge at The Paper Players. I used the layout to make a fun summer themed birthday design using Reverse Confetti's Seaside stamp set and dies.
I used the set's cute crab as my focal image. The image was stamped in red pigment ink and cut out with the matching die. I dotted the eyes with a bit of black Enamel Accents for a bit of contrast. My Enamel Accents is getting a bit thick and gummy, so it might be time for a replacement . . . I used foam tape to adhere the image to a kraft panel with a torn edge. I inked the torn edge a bit with brown and white ink pads to give it a sandy look before stamping the "snappy birthday" sentiment on the strip.
I made a background for the image from a wavy patterned piece from one of RC's Quick Card Panels sets, matted on contrasting red and layered over an aqua circle that was also matted with red. The round and rectangular panels were adhered to a teal card base, then the sentiment panel with the crab image was positioned on top. This red/aqua/kraft color combination just might be one of my all-time favorites!
Materials Used:
Seaside stamp set, Salsa and Iced Aqua cardstock, By the Sea Quick Card Panels, Seaside dies (Reverse Confetti); Memento Luxe Love Letter, Toffee Crunch, and Wedding Dress inks (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); Kraft cardstock (Papertrey Ink); Bahama Bay cardstock (Stampin' Up!); black Enamel Accents (Ranger); foam tape
