Time to Celebrate

Here's my card for this month's Mix It Up challenge at SugarPea Designs.  I used the sketch (loosely!) along with elements from the inspiration photo (florals, purple) to put together this birthday design.

Time to Celebrate card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from SugarPea DesignsI represented the layout's two long panels with a pair of balloons with strings.  The balloon image is from the SPD HB2U set.  I stamped it in two shades of purple on white cardstock, then used the balloon die from the Birthday Journal Card die set to cut out the stamped images.  Each balloon got a tiny die cut string, too.  I used foam tape to adhere the balloons to a white zig zag stitched circle placed on a purple floral patterned panel.  A teeny, tiny purple baker's twine bow connects the strings.  I used the Celebrate All the Things set to stamp the "time to celebrate" sentiment on the round panel in dark purple ink.   The finished panel was adhered to a coordinating purple card base.  A few silver sequins scattered around the balloons complete the design.

Materials Used:
HB2U and Celebrate All the Things stamp sets, Birthday Journal Card and Zig Zag Stitched Circle dies (SugarPea Designs); Memento Lulu Lavender and Grape Jelly inks (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); Winter Wisteria cardstock (Papertrey Ink); Grout Gray cardstock (My Favorite Things); Bright Side 6x6 paper pad (Lawn Fawn); purple baker's twine; silver sequins; foam tape
