I Am Missing You

It's been a while since I created a shaker card, so when I saw the current Lawnfawnatics interactive card challenge, I knew exactly what I wanted to do.  I made a simple scene using the Loads of Fun set, complete with a washing machine with a shaker element full of sequin bubbles--and a lone sock, of course!

I Am Missing You card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from Lawn Fawn
To make the shaker, I stamped the washing machine image on silver cardstock and cut it out with the matching die.  I cut out the round "window" and filled the opening with a piece of clear acetate. For the shaker element's backing, I cut another piece of silver cardstock and stamped a few random bubble images on the piece, then added a single sock image, popped up on foam tape, for the bubbles to float around.  After placing some strips of foam tape around the window to allow room for bubble filling to move around freely, I adhered the backing.  The washer's buttons were filled in with white matte enamel dots--such a fun detail!  The washer was placed on a background with patterned paper "wallpaper" and a woodgrain floor made from kraft cardstock stamped with the woodgrain image from the Woodgrain Backdrops set.  To fill out the scene, I stamped and colored the set's laundry detergent and dryer sheet images and added them next to the machine. The scene panel was adhered to a coordinating green cardstock panel.  I stamped the "I am missing you" sentiment on a narrow strip of kraft cardstock, trimming one edge on a slant for interest.  I added it to the panel, then layered the panel on to a kraft card base.

Materials Used:
Loads of Fun and Woodgrain Backdrops stamp sets, Loads of Fun dies (Lawn Fawn); Memento Tuxedo Black and Memento Luxe Rich Cocoa inks (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); markers (Copic); Simply Chartreuse and Kraft cardstock (Papertrey Ink); Recollections Silver cardstock (Michaels); designer paper (October Afternoon); white matte enamel dots (Eyelet Outlet); Sparkling Clear sequins (Pretty Pink Posh); aqua sequins (Treehouse Studio); acetate sheets; foam tape
