Tropical Thanks

Here's my card for this month's Mix It Up challenge at SugarPea Designs.  I combined the sketch with some fruity inspiration from the accompanying photo to create this tropical themed thank you using the Pineapple Paradise stamps and dies.

The photo featured lemons, so I decided to make a lemony yellow the dominant color in my card and use a fruity image, too.  I made a watercolor style background panel using yellow and green distress inks and water.  While the panel dried, I stamped my pineapple using yellow and green pigment inks. I will admit to doing "stamp surgery" on my pineapple stamp, cutting apart the top and bottom sections of the stamp.  It makes it much easier to ink the image in two colors and it's still easy to line up and stamp on the matching die cut, I promise! 

I added the pineapple to the background panel over a nest of twisty hemp twine, using foam tape for dimension.  For the sentiment, I die cut the word "thanks" from both green cardstock and SPD's SugarPuff foam.  After layering the pieces, I added them to the panel over the pineapple.  A trio of lime green sequins were arranged around the pineapple for a bit of sparkle and contrast.  The finished panel was matted on green cardstock, then adhered to a coordinating lemony yellow card base.
