Hogs and Kisses
Here's my card for the current sketch at The Paper Players. I created a sweet love themed design using stamps, dies, and a stencil from Reverse Confetti.
My focal image is one of the piglets from the Cured set. I colored the image with Copic markers and cut it out with the matching die, then used foam tape to adhere it to a pale gray circle. For the background, I used RC's Hearts stencil, pink distress ink, and an ink applicator to add a heart design to the upper left and lower right corners of a pale pink panel. A strip of pink arrow patterned paper, edged with a very narrow dark gray cardstock strip, was placed along the left side of the panel, then the image panel was added on top. Then, all the fun began! I had planned to use the "hogs and kisses" sentiment from the Cured set on my card, but I somehow managed to lose it. I scoured my stamping space for over an hour looking for it, but no success. I do now have a clean table, which I didn't before . . . So, I had to move on to plan B. With a little selective inking of the "hugs and kisses" stamp from the Crazy About You and a narrow Copic multiliner pen, I was able to create another "hogs and kisses" sentiment. I stamped the text on a narrow white cardstock strip, then added the text to the card. I haven't given up on the sentiment from the Cured set yet, though! I'm still on the lookout . . .
Materials Used:
Cured and Crazy About You stamp sets, Cured dies, Hearts stencil (Reverse Confetti); Memento Tuxedo Black ink (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); Spun Sugar distress ink (Ranger); markers, black Multiliner (Copic); Insulation Pink, Grout Gray, and Steel Grey cardstock (My Favorite Things); Cedar Lane 6x6 paper pad (Fancy Pants Designs); circle die (Spellbinders); foam tape
