Color Throwdown 451-Happy Bird-Day
It's time for another Color Throwdown! Amy Rysavy is our hostess this week with a summer inspired color combination--dark pink, pale pink, green, and white.
The inspiration photo may feature some yummy watermelon, but all of that pink made me think of flamingos! I paired the colors with Reverse Confetti's Fabulous Flamingo stamp set and the current sketch from Sunday Stamps for this tall and skinny birthday design. I stamped the flamingo in pink pigment ink, then die cut the stamped pieces. They're assembled on the card base using foam tape. The set's "happy bird-day" sentiment was stamped next to the flamingo image in dark pink ink. I edged the top and the bottom of the card with strips of dark pink cardstock and wrapped the top of the card with a bit of delicate seam binding. A bit of polka dotted pink washi tape placed beneath the flamingo image adds a final whimsical touch to the design.
To play along, just create a paper crafted project using these colors as a starting point and add a direct link to your finished project using the linky tool found at the end of this week's CTD post. As always, if you don’t have exact color matches, something close works just fine. Just be sure that the challenge colors are the dominant ones in your project. And, if you upload your project to an online gallery, use the keyword CTD451. If you upload your projects on social media, go ahead and use the hashtag #ctd451 and #colorthrowdown. You can find us on Instagram (and on Facebook!) with the username colorthrowdown.
Before you get started, here’s some inspiration from the talented Color Throwdown team, our July guestie Tracey McNeely, and this week's Guest Star Stamper, Marge.
