Happy Birthday
Here's my card for the current sketch at Freshly Made Sketches. This birthday card came together quickly with the help of a word die from Lil' Inker Designs.
I started out by brushing a stripe of pale pink Spun Sugar distress ink across a panel of watercolor paper. While waiting for the ink stripe to dry, I used the Happy Birthday Border die to cut the text from dark pink cardstock. Once the ink dried, I positioned a strip of super sparkly silver glitter tape across the watercolored panel, just beneath the colored stripe. The die cut words were placed on top of the silver tape, overlapping the pale pink watercolored stripe. The panel was matted on pale pink paper to match the watercoloring, then adhered to a pink card base that matches the text.
Materials Used:
Happy Birthday Border die (Lil' Inker Designs); Spun Sugar distress ink (Ranger); Piggy Bank and Flamingo cardstock (Reverse Confetti); silver glitter tape (Target)

What an effective use of the border die. I love it with the pink wash, and all grounded with the glittery silver. Thank you for playing along with us at Freshly Made Sketches.
ReplyDeleteGreat take on the sketch Lori!
