Color Throwdown 464-Fall Thanks
It's time for another Color Throwdown! Amy Rohl is up as our challenge hostess this week with a fall-like color combination--orange, kraft, and black.
I used dies from SugarPea Designs for my fall themed card. I created a pair of pumpkins using the Stitched Autumn Icons dies. To add depth to the die cuts, I inked the bottom of the pumpkins with some orange distress inks. They were layered on to a kraft panel cut and embossed with the Woodgrain Journal Card die. A loopy pile of gold thread sets them off from the panel and adds a little sparkle and shine. I adhered the woodgrain piece to an orange cardstock panel, then added the die cut "thanks" on top. The panel was layered on to a kraft card base. A trio of gold sequins arranged around the sentiment and pumpkins completed the design.
To play along, just create a paper crafted project using these colors as a starting point and add a direct link to your finished project using the linky tool found at the end of this week's CTD post. As always, if you don’t have exact color matches, something close works just fine. Just be sure that the challenge colors are the dominant ones in your project. And, if you upload your project to an online gallery, use the keyword CTD464. If you upload your projects on social media, go ahead and use the hashtag #ctd464 and #colorthrowdown. You can find us on Instagram (and on Facebook!) with the username colorthrowdown.
Before you get started, here’s some inspiration from the talented Color Throwdown team, our October guestie Michele Ferguson, and this week's Guest Star Stamper, Rosemary Dennis.
Materials Used:
Stitched Autumn Icons, Thanks, and Woodgrain Journal Card dies (SugarPea Designs); Wild Honey distress ink (Ranger); Pumpkin Pie, Crumb Cake, and Basic Black cardstock (Stampin' Up!); gold thread, gold sequins (Michaels); craft foam; foam tape
