Color Throwdown 471-Enjoy the Beauty of the Season
It's time for another Color Throwdown! Amy Rysavy is our hostess this week. She's got a classic neutral combination with a pop of sparkle that's perfect for seasonal designs--black, gray, white, and gold.
When I first saw the colors and the patterned pillows in the inspiration photo, I thought about creating a modern, graphic design, but ended up with a wintery design instead. My snowflakes are from the Cozy Winter Wishes set from Lil' Inker Designs. I stamped them in gray pigment ink, then dotted the center of each flake with a bit of gold Liquid Pearls. I have a love-hate relationship with that stuff! I love how it looks, but I hate how I always end up smearing it before it's dry . . .
For the sentiment, I stamped the "enjoy the beauty of the season" sentiment from LID's Winter Greetings set on a strip of gold paper, then placed it on the stamped panel. The panel was matted on gold paper, then adhered to a contrasting black card base.
To play along, just create a paper crafted project using these colors as a starting point and add a direct link to your finished project using the linky tool found at the end of this week's CTD post. As always, if you don’t have exact color matches, something close works just fine. Just be sure that the challenge colors are the dominant ones in your project. And, if you upload your project to an online gallery, use the keyword CTD471. If you upload your projects on social media, go ahead and use the hashtag #ctd471 and #colorthrowdown. You can find us on Instagram (and on Facebook!) with the username colorthrowdown.
Before you get started, here’s some inspiration from the talented Color Throwdown team and our November guestie Kelly Lunceford, and this week's Guest Star Stamper, Joyce Mehrberg.
