Turning a New Leaf Thanks
Here's my card for the current CAS(e) this Sketch challenge. I used one of my all-time favorite Papertrey Ink stamp sets, Turning a New Leaf, for this fall inspired design. The leafy branches were heat embossed in white on a watercolor paper panel. I pressed the paper onto a large acrylic block with watered down distress inks on it to get the watercolor-y look. The color spread a little more than I'd wanted it to (I wanted some white space at the top of the panel), but I think it still looks nice.
After the panel dried, I added the "thanks" sentiment from the Thanks All Ways stamp sets on top. The orange strip is a nice contrast to the softer colors on the card. For some sparkle, I arranged a trio of gold sequins around the sentiment. I adhered the finished panel to an orange card base to match the sentiment panel.
Materials Used:
Turning a New Leaf and Thanks All Ways stamp sets (Papertrey Ink); Memento Luxe Rich Cocoa ink (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); Dried Marigold, Carved Pumpkin, and Mustard Seed distress inks (Ranger); Orange Fizz cardstock (My Favorite Things); gold paper (Target); Recollections Snow embossing powder (Michaels); gold sequins
