Color Throwdown 480-Petals 'n Posies Thank You
It's time for another Color Throwdown! Wanda is our hostess this week with a beautiful color combination--lilac, green, gray, and white. I combined the colors with the current sketch at CAS(e) this Sketch for this simple floral thank you design.
For the focal image, I stamped the flowers and leaves from Reverse Confetti's Petals 'n Posies set in the challenge colors, then die cut the stamped images. The pretty script "thanks" sentiment from the In a Big Way set was stamped in white pigment ink on a gray banner strip cut with a die from the Tag Me set. I heat embossed it in white so it would pop against the dark background. Once all of the pieces were cut and stamped, I played around with the placement of the images for a while before I finally settled on the arrangement you see here. Adding the smaller flower on top using foam tape added interest to the simple design. For a bit of dimension, I dotted the center of each flower with a gray enamel dot. The finished panel was adhered to a green card base.
To play along, just create a paper crafted project using these colors as a starting point and add a direct link to your finished project using the linky tool found at the end of this week's CTD post. As always, if you don’t have exact color matches, something close works just fine. Just be sure that the challenge colors are the dominant ones in your project. And, if you upload your project to an online gallery, use the keyword CTD480. If you upload your projects on social media, go ahead and use the hashtag #ctd480 and #colorthrowdown. You can find us on Instagram (and on Facebook!) with the username colorthrowdown.
Before you get started, here’s some inspiration from the talented Color Throwdown team and our February guestie Claire Apostoloff, and this week's Guest Star Stamper, Kelly Schirmer.
