Teacher Thank You
Here's my card for the current challenge at Sunday Stamps. I used the "rectangle love" sketch to make a teacher themed design using stamps and dies from Lil' Inker Designs.
I used the Teacher Word die to die cut the word "teacher" from red cardstock. After adhering the die cut to a cream cardstock rectangle, I stamped "thank you" from the Teacher Talk stamp set beneath the die cut in brown ink. The cream rectangle was edged with narrow red cardstock strips, then adhered to a cream and red plaid patterned panel. I placed another rectangle--this time, a contrasting green dotted panel-- along the right side of the plaid panel. It looked better in my mind than it does on the card, but I'm sticking with it! As an accent, I used cardstock scraps to die cut an apple. The assembled apple (apple, stem, and leaf) was adhered to the panel overlapping the sentiment panel and the green dotted paper using foam tape. The rounded shape of the apple is a nice contrast to all of the rectangle edges on the sketch. The finished panel was adhered to a red card base to match the apple and die cut word.
Materials Used:
Teacher Talk stamp set, Teacher Word and Apple Pieces dies (Lil' Inker Designs); Memento Rich Cocoa ink (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); Riding Hood Red, Garden Green, and Chocolate Chip cardstock (Stampin' Up!); Modern Homemaker 8x8 paper pad (October Afternoon); Green Salt-Soup Staples II designer paper (Jillibean Soup); foam tape
