Color Throwdown 495-You Rock

It's time for another Color Throwdown!  Jodi is our hostess this week with a rich color combination--navy, burgundy, and gold.  I paired the colors with the current challenge at The Paper Players to create this multipurpose card.

You Rock card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from Lil' Inker Designs
I  built the card on a burgundy card base.   The navy polka dotted panel, matted on sparkly gold paper and placed on top, adds whimsy to the design.  With all the dark colors, the dots were a nice way to lighten things up, too.  I substituted the layout's round panel with a gold stitched star die cut, adhered at the bottom right corner of the patterned panel with foam tape.  I stamped the "you rock" sentiment from the Lil' Inker Designs Seriously Awesome stamp set in gold ink on a narrow navy strip, then heat embossed the text in gold so it would pop against the background.  It was put in place with more foam tape.  A trio of gold sequins surrounds the star for extra emphasis.

To play along, just create a paper crafted project using these colors as a starting point and add a direct link to your finished project using the linky tool found at the end of this week's CTD post.  As always, if you don’t have exact color matches, something close works just fine.  Just be sure that the challenge colors are the dominant ones in your project.  And, if you upload your project to an online gallery, use the keyword CTD495.  If you upload your projects on social media, go ahead and use the hashtag #ctd495 and #colorthrowdown.  You can find us on Instagram (and on Facebook!) with the username colorthrowdown.

Before you get started, here’s some inspiration from the talented Color Throwdown team, our May guestie Rachel Avarado, and this week's Guest Star Stamper, Liz Williams.
