It's time for another Color Throwdown! Lisa is our hostess this week with a great color combination--aqua, black, and white. Black and white with a pop of color always inspires great designs!
I took my lead from the water in the photo and created a card with some water on it. My water, made from aqua cardstock punched along the top with different sized circle punches to get a wave-like detail, serves as the background for the shark from Lawn Fawn's Duh-nuh stamp set. The shark was colored with Copic markers and cut out with the matching die, then adhered to the layered wavy panels using foam tape. I edged the bottom of the aqua panels with a narrow strip of black cardstock to set it off a bit from the rest of the panel. The "have a jawsome birthday" sentiment stamped above the water in black ink was the result of mixing and matching words and phrases from several Lawn Fawn stamp sets (Duh-nuh, Happy Happy Happy, and Merry Messages). The finished panel was matted on black cardstock, then adhered to an aqua card base.
Before you get started, here’s some inspiration from the talented Color Throwdown team and this week's Guest Star Stamper, Lise Mariann.
