Beary Good Birthday

The theme for the current My Favorite Things Birthday Project challenge is bears.  I used one of the images from MFT's Beary Special Birthday set for my birthday themed bear design.

Beary Good Birthday card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from My Favorite Things
The bear was colored up with Copic markers, then cut out with the matching die.  I used foam tape to adhere the image to an aqua dotted panel that I'd cut with a Pierced Rectangle STAX die to give it a decorative edge.  After matting the aqua panel on a shiny silver cardstock panel, I adhered the image panel to an aqua card base.  The "have a beary good birthday" sentiment from the Polar Bear Hugs stamp set was stamped in black ink (VersaFine Clair Nocturne--my new favorite sentiment ink) on a red fishtail flag strip.  I adhered the sentiment strip to the card, tucking the straight end underneath the raised image, to complete the design.

Materials Used:
Beary Special Birthday and Polar Bear Hugs stamp sets, Die-namics Beary Special Birthday, Pierced Rectangle STAX, and Fishtail Flag STAX dies (My Favorite Things); Memento Tuxedo Black and VersaFine Clair Nocturne inks (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); markers (Copic); Aqua Mist cardstock, Aqua Mist patterned paper (Papertrey Ink); Real Red cardstock (Stampin' Up!); Recollections Silver cardstock (Michaels); foam tape
