I've been home from the hospital for about 10 days now and I'm finally feeling well enough to do a little stamping. I'm a little rusty--this is probably the longest stretch I've gone without crafting in a decade! To get back into the groove, I started out by creating a card for the current My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch Challenge using the Meant to Bee stamp set. This set is pretty easy to color, so it was a good starting point.
I colored up the beehive for my focal panel. The colored image was cut out with the matching die then layered on to an aqua gingham circle using foam tape for dimension. I matted the circle on darker aqua cardstock before adhering it to the right side of a coordinating aqua panel over a golden yellow cardstock strip. The little overhang on the right side was trimmed off so that the side of the circle was even with the side of the aqua panel. I stamped up a trio of bee images and colored them with Copic markers, then cut them out with the matching dies. They were positioned around the hive with more foam tape. For the sentiment, I placed the "just bee-cause" sentiment on my block so it was curved to match the round shape of the image panel, then stamped the text in black ink.Materials Used:
Meant to Bee stamp set, Meant to Bee dies (My Favorite Things); Memento Tuxedo Black ink (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); markers (Copic); Aqua Mist, Hawaiian Shores, and Harvest Gold cardstock, Aqua Mist patterned paper (Papertrey Ink); circle dies (Spellbinders); foam tape
