Here's my card for the current challenge at Freshly Made Sketches. As soon as I saw the sketch, I thought of an ombre-style design, so I mixed and matched a variety of blue-green cardstock scraps to come up with the color progression you see here. I trimmed down the scraps to a uniform size before arranging them from light to dark on a card base. For the sentiment, I stamped the"happy" from the Taylored Expressions On the Block-Happy stamp set in watermark ink on a white die cut, then embossed the block letters in aqua embossing powder. The word "birthday" from the On Repeat-Birthday stamp set was stamped on a small aqua die cut. The words were adhered to the lower right side of the colorblocked panel using foam tape for dimension. A trio of teal enamel dots arranged around the words completed the design. I could see making this same design in a few different color schemes to quickly create some birthday cards to have on hand.
Materials Used:
On the Block-Happy and On Repeat-Birthday stamp sets, On the Block-Happy Shadow and On Repeat dies (Taylored Expressions); Versafine Clair Nocturne and Versamark inks (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); Taken with Teal cardstock (Stampin' Up!); Ocean cardstock, Glacier embossing powder (Recollections); Hawaiian Shores cardstock (Papertrey Ink); teal enamel dots (Eyelet Outlet); foam tape
Such a fun mix of blues and aquas - so pretty with the big "happy"! Thank you for playing along with us at Freshly Made Sketches.
ReplyDeleteI totally love this ombre-style design. This is so simple and so eye catching at the same. I love your choice of colors, too. Thanks so much for playing along with us at Freshly Made Sketches.
