Color Throwdown 645-You Make Me So Happy

It's time for another Color Throwdown! Susie is our hostess with a bold mix of colors--aqua, pink, and  black.

You Make Me So Happy card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from Reverse Confetti
I paired the colors with the current sketch at Try Stampin' on Tuesday for this design with clean lines and bold text that was a perfect use for the colors. My pink reads a little more red than pink, but the bold florals from Doodlebug Design were perfect for this fun design. Doodlebug's papers have such bold, bright colors so I knew they'd be a good choice for the challenge colors. I cut a strip of the pink floral paper and matted it on contrasting black cardstock. This was adhered to the card base over a strip of aqua woodgrain patterned paper. For the second vertical panel, I cut a strip of white cardstock and matted it on black before adhering it to the cardfront with the left side tucked slightly underneath the patterned panel strip on the left. I used Reverse Confetti's Happy dies to die cut "happy" from pink cardstock and placed it on the panel using foam tape for dimension. The matching letters were cut from aqua cardstock and placed on top of the word. I used aqua ink to stamp the "you make me so" sentiment from the Happy Coordinates set just above the die cut word. To finish the design, I added an aqua triangle to the bottom corner of the patterned paper panel.

To play along, just create a paper crafted project using these colors as a starting point and add a direct link to your finished project using the linky tool found at the end of this week's CTD post.  As always, if you don’t have exact color matches, something close works just fine.  Just be sure that the challenge colors are the dominant ones in your project.  And, if you upload your project to an online gallery, use the keyword CTD645If you upload your projects on social media, go ahead and use the hashtag #ctd645 and #colorthrowdown.  You can find us on Instagram and on Facebook with the username colorthrowdown.  Before you get started, here’s some inspiration from the talented Color Throwdown team and this week's Guest Star stamper Christy Stanford.
