Color Throwdown 789-You Rock

It's time for another Color Throwdown! Vickie is our hostess with a great mix of colors--red, gold, and navy.

You Rock card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from Lil' Inker Designs
I paired the colors with the current challenge from TGIF Challenges for this fun design. I used a die from Lil' Inker Designs to create six red stitched stars. The stars were positioned on a navy cardstock panel at the bottom of a red card base. I used foam tape underneath each star for dimension. I added a strip of shimmery gold paper to the top of the panel to visually separate the navy from a red on red dotted patterned paper panel positioned above it. A narrow red strip tucked beneath the top edge of the gold panel makes a nice transition between the two pieces. To finish the design, I stamped "you rock!" from LID's Seriously Awesome stamp set on a strip of red cardstock and used more foam tape to place the text on the cardfront overlapping the dotted and gold panels.

To play along, just create a paper crafted project using these colors as a starting point and add a direct link to your finished project using the linky tool found at the end of this week's CTD post.  As always, if you don’t have exact color matches, something close works just fine. Just be sure that the challenge colors are the dominant ones in your project. And, if you upload your project to an online gallery, use the keyword CTD789. If you upload your projects on social media, go ahead and use the hashtag #ctd789 and #colorthrowdown.  You can find us on Instagram and on Facebook with the username colorthrowdown.  Before you get started, here’s some inspiration from the talented Color Throwdown team.
