Color Throwdown 799-Have a Happy Day

It's time for another Color Throwdown! Vickie is our challenge hostess this week with a vibrant color palette--pink, green, and purple.

Have a Happy Day card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from The Stamp Market

My card for this week's challenge is based on the current sketch from CAS Colours and Sketches. I scaled down the layout to make a mini slimline card, but kept true to the sketch. My fun, funky circles are from The Stamp Market's Patterned Polka Dots stamp set. I used cardstock scraps to stamp the patterns tone on tone for interest before using the stitched circle dies to cut the pieces out. The circles were arranged on a white cardstock panel underneath a wide purple fishtail flag strip. The color reads more blue in the photo than it is in real life, I promise! I stamped the set's "have a happy day" sentiment on a narrow green strip in green ink, then used foam tape to adhere it to the panel. A trio of green enamel dots around the sentiment strip bring in more round elements and additional dimension. The finished panel was adhered to a purple card base matching the fishtail flag strip.

To play along, just create a paper crafted project using these colors as a starting point and add a direct link to your finished project using the linky tool found at the end of this week's CTD post.  As always, if you don’t have exact color matches, something close works just fine. Just be sure that the challenge colors are the dominant ones in your project. And, if you upload your project to an online gallery, use the keyword CTD799. If you upload your projects on social media, go ahead and use the hashtag #ctd799 and #colorthrowdown.  You can find us on Instagram and on Facebook with the username colorthrowdown.  Before you get started, here’s some inspiration from the talented Color Throwdown team.
