Kitchen Sink Monday: Refrigerator Art
For this week's Kitchen Sink Stamps Monday, Lynn challenged us to take a favorite quote and make it into "refrigerator art" by printing it out, putting it on a magnet, and embelllishing it with KSS images.
I spent a little while thinking before deciding on this quote about teaching: "It is not so much what is poured into the student, but what is planted by the teacher that really counts."
I cut the scalloped rectangle panel first and used that as a guide to cut my magnet sheet down to fit the panel. I cut another rectangle to use for the quote. I printed the sentiment on a piece of plain white copy paper to check for size, then used temporary adhesive to place my cardstock rectangle over the printed sentiment on the copy paper. I ran the copy paper with the cardstock through my printer again to get the placement as I wanted it to be.
I used the smaller carnation image from the 3 Step Get Well Teddy set to decorate my quote panel. I went with a mostly monochromatic color scheme with just a pop of green in the stems. Since I don't want the panel to be too heavy for the magnet, the only embellishment I added was a piece of white satin ribbon.
