Kitchen Sink Monday: Tropical Greetings
Last week, I shared with you that Kitchen Sink Stamps is retiring some old favorites to make room for new goodies. KSS will be releasing seven new sets next week, so be sure to stop by Maria's blog every day until the big release for some sneak peeks and a chance to win one of the new sets. Here's a card I made to tide you over while you're waiting for the new sets to be revealed.
Since summer has finally arrived here, I thought it was time to do a tropical card, KSS-style. I pulled out my 3 Step Aloha stamp set for this one. I stamped the dancing girl image with a combination of a bunch of different inks. The first layer was stamped in a neutral pigment ink (Dune from Color Box). For the rest of the layers, I used Blush Blossom (layers 2 and 3) and Creamy Caramel for the dancer's body and a trio of Memento inks for the grass skirt. The shape of the dew drop style ink pads made it easy to ink up just the skirt section of the image.
I used my Top Note die to cut out the image and a bold mat for underneath it. The sentiment is stamped alongside the dancer in Melon Mambo ink.
I covered the card base with some floral patterned paper and added a solid strip across the card with a bright pink ribbon. I embellished the image panel with a trio of jewel-centered flowers.
And, don't forget, you can always use the code LORI10KSS for a 10% discount on your KSS purchases.
