Simple Shooting Star

One of the smaller images from the DoodleFactory Final Frontier stamp set from Starving Artistamps is front and center in this clean and simple card. The single shooting star image makes a nice focal point here.

I stamped the star in silver ink on a black cardstock circle. A metallic silver Dew Drop was attached to the center of the star for some dimension, then the image panel was layered on a circle panel with pinked edges. I added a coordinating ribbon tab underneath the panel.

My card features a trendy yellow and gray color scheme—kind of out of my comfort zone, but it works nicely with the image. The gray panel is embossed with a star texture plate. I spritzed my cardstock with some rubbing alcohol before embossing it to get a little more definition in the embossing. I layered the embossed panel on a yellow card base, then added the image and sentiment. The “star light, star bright” sentiment from the Woods sentiments set is a perfect match for this image, isn’t it?
