To a Real Fungi
My best friend’s husband is celebrating a birthday this week, so I needed to make a guy birthday card to give him. I turned to a fun image from the DoodleFactory Fairy Tale set from Starving Artistamps for this fun card, which also fits this week’s birthday card challenge at Crazy 4 Challenges and this week’s Just Us Girls challenge to use some kind of stitching.
I used two of the set’s mushroom images for the focal image, masking the larger one when I stamped. The images are colored with Copic markers. I used my airbrush (and new compressor) to fill in a warm feeling background for the image.
I picked the earthy colors for the image to coordinate with Cosmo Cricket’s Earth Love paper. I used a strip of the line’s patterned paper across the cardfront, underneath the stamped image. I kept the rest of the card simple. A strip of twill tape is stitched along the left edge of the image. The coordinating sentiment is stamped in gray ink on a Summer Sunrise panel and accented with a single brad.
Materials Used:
DoodleFactory Fairy Tale stamp set, Fairy Tale Sentiments set (Starving Artistamps); Sweet Corn and white cardstock (Gina K Designs); Tuxedo Black ink (Memento); markers, airbrush (Copic); Smokey Shadow ink, Summer Sunrise cardstock (Papertrey Ink); designer paper (Cosmo Cricket-Earth Love line); twill tape (Martha Stewart); silver brad (Making Memories)
