Jolly Good Fun

Here’s my card for Mercy’s latest sketch challenge. I went with a wintery theme using one of Unity’s new Jillibean Soup co-branded sets, Jolly Good Fun.

I stamped the mitten pair on an angle, leaving just enough room to stamp the “jolly good fun” sentiment in the upper corner of the panel. The mittens were stamped a second time on a cardstock scrap, colored with Copic markers, cut out, then attached to the image panel with dimensional dots. I scribbled over the little snowmen on the mittens with a clear Spica pen for a snow-like sparkle.

I used two different patterns from Cosmo Cricket’s Mitten Weather mini deck for the panel on the cardfront. A strip of red faux suede ribbon hides the seam between the two papers and a kraft scalloped strip dresses up the bottom edge. I machine stitched just above the top of the kraft strip. I selected a zig zag stitch, but somehow got a straight one. Guess I'm lucky it sewed anything if it's going to be temperamental--LOL! A trio of iridescent crystals along the right side adds just a little bit more sparkle and shimmer to this wintery design.
