It's Your Day

Yes, PJ Bear, it’s your day—for Sneaky Peeks from the upcoming release from The Cat’s Pajamas, that is! My card for this week’s TCP Tuesday challenge to feature a bear image also serves as a preview of the new Bearing Flowers set that will be available on Monday, June 27 at 10 pm EST.

I used this week’s Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge as the starting point for this one. I stamped PJ on some Neenah white cardstock, purposely omitting the sunflower part, then colored him with Copic markers, and cut him out. To fill in the missing flower, I used the new Sunflower Rosette CutUps die to make a fabulous 3D sunflower for PJ to hold. I layered the two yellow flowers with foam tape, then added on the orange center. Each of the embossed dot “seeds” is filled in with a dab of Gold Pearl Liquid Pearls for a shimmery, sparkly look. PJ and his flower are set on a green dot embossed panel using more foam tape.

Something about sunflowers makes me think of country, so I went with a sunny yellow gingham pattern to cover most of the kraft card base. After setting the paper in place, I added a strip of orange satin ribbon, then attached the image panel over that. I curved the set’s “it’s your day” sentiment around my clear block and stamped it in orange ink to fit around the edge of the image panel. The orange button, tied with orange Divine Twine, finishes things off.

Be sure to stop by Alma’s blog to find links to all of the Cat Packers who’ll be sharing Sneaky Peeks today and for all the details on this week's TCP Tuesday challenge. And, be sure to stop by the TCP forum on SCS to play in the "In It to Win It" contest going on now and for our release Pajama Party in on Monday, June 27—you don’t want to miss out on the fun!
