TCPTues 166-Wish

This week's TCP Tuesday inspiration challenge is a fun and festive one, courtesy of Jen. Check out that birthday-inspired photo collage! I took my inspiration from the (cup) cake theme and the pink and brown color scheme and came up with this super sweet birthday card featuring the bunny from A Girl and Her Cake and using this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge.

The girlie bunny and her cake are colored with Copic markers. I sparkled her up a little using Dazzling Diamonds (for the cake's icing), Stickles (for the candle flames), and a few scattered clear crystals for good measure.

I kept the pink and brown color scheme going for the cardfront, using a pink dotted paper at the top of the card and a brown plaid patterned one at the bottom. The plaid kind of reminds me of the pattern on the little wafer pieces in the inspiration photo. I ran strips of the new rose seam binding across the cardfront before layering the image panel on top. The set's "wish" sentiment is stamped on a pink notch-edged strip with a button at the end, threaded with a little beige linen thread.

Are you inspired yet? I hope so! If you are, share your take on the inspiration challenge with us in the guestbook on Alma's blog or in the SCS gallery (with keyword TCPTues166) to be entered to win this week's Cat Cash prize.

A Girl and Her Cake stamp set, Neenah white cardstock, rose seam binding, beige linen thread (The Cat's Pajamas); Memento Tuxedo Black ink (Tsukineko); markers (Copic); Crumb Cake and Blushing Bride cardstock, Dazzling Diamonds (Stampin' Up!); Candy Shoppe Dots & Stripes designer paper (Echo Park); Lime Twist-Fly a Kite "Genuine" Sky designer paper (My Mind's Eye); Polka Dots embossing folder (Cuttlebug); Yellow Stickles (Ranger); clear crystals (Studio 18); white button (Michaels); foam tape

  1. Just darling. Love all the pink and polka dots. And the PLAID! I'm mad for the plaid.
