TCPTuesday 173-What a Blast

For this week’s TCP Tuesday challenge, our hostess Tori has asked us to use this pretty color combination—cornflower blue, orange, and chocolate brown. I went with my pinwheel-wielding PJ the Bear image from the What a Blast set for this one.

I colored PJ with Copic markers, omitting the pinwheel part of the image. The pinwheel’s replaced with a 3d one, made with the smaller pinwheel from the CutUps Pinwheel die. I purposely selected very lightweight designer papers for the pinwheel so that I could cut them with the die, glue them together, and make a pretty, two-patterned pinwheel.

I used coordinating designer papers, matted on chocolate brown panels, to cover most of the cardfront, adding a strip of orange grosgrain ribbon to break up the patterns a bit. The image is set at the center of the panels. I added a pair of felt clouds, cut with the CutUps Cloud Border die, for a whimsical touch. The “what a blast” sentiment is stamped in brown ink directly on the gingham patterned paper.

I hope you'll pull your stamps out and give this color combination a go. Playing along with the challenge enters you into the mix for the weekly Cat Cash prize awarded to one lucky participant who adds their creation to the guestbook on Alma's blog--and gives you the chance to be honored as the next Swanky Stamper. And, Alma will be sharing links to the Cat Pack's creations on her blog all week, so be sure to check in regularly for some eye candy and inspiration.
