TCPTuesday 202-Color Me Hoppy

This week’s TCP Tuesday challenge from Julie is “grass with class.” We’re using grass on our projects in creative ways, whether it is dies, materials, or stamps. Here’s a clean and simple—and super sparkly—card that would be fun to give for Easter or for a little pick me up. The simple layout really lets the big eared bunny take center stage!

I colored the bunny and egg from the Bunny Side Up set with Copic markers, picking spring-like soft blues, greens, and yellows for the decorative shell, then cut out the colored image. The egg was coated with glue, then sprinkled with a nice coating of fine glitter. All that sparkle’s so pretty IRL!

I machine stitched a light aqua gingham panel around the edges, then set the panel on a light green card base. I used some of TCP’s fabulous felt and the CutUps Grass Border die to cut two strips of green felt grass. After layering and arranging the strips across the patterned paper panel, I used foam tape to set the bunny in place.

To play along with the challenge, upload your "grass with class" creation to the guestbook on Alma's blog. One participant will be awarded this week's Cat Cash prize. If you're looking for some inspiration to get you started, Alma will be posting links to the Cat Pack's creations on her blog throughout the week.

Materials Used:
Bunny Side Up stamp set, Neenah white cardstock, CutUps Grass Border die, Green with Envy felt collection (The Cat’s Pajamas); Memento Tuxedo Black ink (Tsukineko); markers (Copic); Spring Moss and Simply Chartreuse cardstock (Papertrey Ink); Quite Contrary 6x paper pad (My Mind’s Eye); Dazzling Diamonds glitter (Stampin’ Up!); sewing machine; foam tape
