Color Throwdown 196-Happy Day Duo
It’s time for another Color Throwdown! This week, Danielle’s brought us a soft color combination—Bashful Blue, So Saffron, Very Vanilla, and Crumb Cake. I used the photo as inspiration for this simple, cheerful card.
I used two different size bird images from the Clear and Simple Stamps Flower Buds set as my focal image. The legs are stamped in brown ink and the bodies in a golden yellow. For dimension, I cut out the bodies and used foam tape to attach them to the light blue background. It's hard to see in the photo, but their eyes are dotted with Liquid Pearls.
The panel’s edged along one side with some vanilla and yellow strips and wrapped with yellow baker’s twine. I set a notch-edged blue gingham panel on a kraft card base, then layered the image panel over that. The “oh happy day” sentiment from the All Occasions 1 set is stamped along the right edge of the panel. I thought about adding some pearls or brads to accent it, but in the end, just left it alone.
To play along, just create a paper crafted project using these colors as a starting point and add a direct link to your finished project using the linky tool found at the end of this week's CTD post. As always, if you don’t have exact color matches, something close works just fine. And, if you upload your project to an online gallery, use the keyword CTD196. Before you get started, here’s some inspiration from the talented Color Throwdown team and June’s guestie, Anna Wight:
