CSS Group Post: Celebrating National Red Roses Day

Did you know that today’s National Red Roses Day? What a fun day to celebrate! In honor of this event, this month’s Clear and Simple Stamps design team group project theme is red flowers. Everyone will be featuring red flowers from the Collection 3 release as the focal point on their cards. I used a classic black and white color combination along with one of the blooms from the Flower Buds set for my card.

I stamped the large flower image in red ink on white cardstock, then cut it out. It’s hard to see in the photo, but I gave it a light coating of a shimmer spray for a pretty sparkle.

I kept the card’s layout very simple to keep the focus on the striking flower. I used a black card base, then added a white circle die cut stamped with the matching dotted frame. A red strip runs across the card, overlapping the circle. The "I love you" sentiment from the All Occasions 1 set is stamped on the red strip.  I added the flower to the opposite end of the red strip using foam tape for dimension and slipped a pair of green leaves underneath as an accent.

Don’t miss what the rest of the CSS team has created for this month’s challenge. Here’s where to find them:
