Ten Minute Thank You

I was at home yesterday instead of at work, thanks to a snow day.  I was kind of hoping that we'd get a nice amount so that I could introduce Chloe the cutie puppy to a real snowfall--believe it or not, but there hasn't been much more than an inch or two at a time here since I brought her home with me almost three years ago.  We didn't end up getting much snow, but I did end up getting a little stamping done while I was keeping warm inside.  I put together this quick design using the colors from the latest 10 Minute Craft Dash.  The shades of browns and green seemed to call for an earthy, masculine card, so I used some Papertrey Ink stamp sets to put together this thank you card in 9 minutes and 37 seconds.

I used the leafy tree from the Trendy Treetops set as my focal image.  The image is stamped on a kraft panel using green and dark brown inks. I set the panel on a dark brown mat for contrast, then set it aside to work on the cardfront.

To go with my earthy theme, I stamped the kraft card base with a woodgrain stamp using a matching kraft ink for a subtle look.  I wrapped some olive baker's twine around an olive green panel, securing it with a bow.  The "thanks so much" sentiment from the Mixed Messages stamp set is stamped on a tiny tag die cut that hangs from the bow.  I layered the olive panel on a dark brown mat, then adhered the panel to the cardfront.  The stamped image panel is set over top.  The design is simple, but it's the perfect non-fussy thank you card for a guy!
