Here’s my card for this week’s Muse challenge. I was inspired by the simple layout, the beautiful gradient of blue colors, and the use of negative space on the card.

I made my own blue banner using three graduated shades of blue cardstock. Once the banner was finished, I die cut the word “hi” from it, purposely cutting the word at a spot where two different colors meet. After backing the open space with a navy panel, I adhered the banner strip to a white card base. I wanted to add something more but didn’t want to take away from the white space. After considering glitter tape and baker’s twine, I finally settled on adding a scattering of enamel dots around the banner strip.

Materials Used:
Aqua Mist and Enchanted Evening cardstock (Papertrey Ink); Turquoise Sea cardstock (Gina K Designs); Die-namics Happy Hellos and Fishtail Flag Stax dies (My Favorite Things); enamel dots (My Mind’s Eye)

  1. Simply stunning Lori. I love your take on my card. I think the enamel dots fit perfectly. I too debated whether to scatter something on my card - but in the end couldn't make a decision, so I left it plain. I really love what you have done though. Thanks for playing :)

  2. This is great! Love the added dots

  3. Simply Great Card!!!!
    love fresh and clean look.

  4. Fantastic card, really like the technique you used and the colours.

  5. I love your colour blocked take on this week's Muse - a very clever idea! thanks for playing along!

  6. Wow! Love the bold design you've used. It's just great.

  7. So striking and those enamel dots work brilliantly...I need some of those in my stash!
