Hi

Here’s my card for this week’s Muse challenge. I was inspired by the simple layout, the beautiful gradient of blue colors, and the use of negative space on the card.

I made my own blue banner using three graduated shades of blue cardstock. Once the banner was finished, I die cut the word “hi” from it, purposely cutting the word at a spot where two different colors meet. After backing the open space with a navy panel, I adhered the banner strip to a white card base. I wanted to add something more but didn’t want to take away from the white space. After considering glitter tape and baker’s twine, I finally settled on adding a scattering of enamel dots around the banner strip.

Materials Used:
Aqua Mist and Enchanted Evening cardstock (Papertrey Ink); Turquoise Sea cardstock (Gina K Designs); Die-namics Happy Hellos and Fishtail Flag Stax dies (My Favorite Things); enamel dots (My Mind’s Eye)

  1. Simply stunning Lori. I love your take on my card. I think the enamel dots fit perfectly. I too debated whether to scatter something on my card - but in the end couldn't make a decision, so I left it plain. I really love what you have done though. Thanks for playing :)
