Very, Very Hoppy for You!
This card uses Very Punny, the first of this year's Sell-A-Bration sets that I've used. After much deliberation, I decided to cut the words apart from the main image and mount them separately, on the side of the wood block. After trying a few cards using this set, I don't regret that decision at all. It was nice to decide where to put the image and to not have to worry about getting stray ink marks from trying to ink only part of the stamp.
The main image on this card uses a technique called repetition stamping, or stamping off. The image is inked one time, then stamped repeatedly on the cardstock. On this card, repetition stamping is used to create the effect of motion. For a colored image, it creates several shades of ink in the image that is stamped--a great way to stretch your stamping supplies!
Materials Used (All from Stampin' Up!): Very Punny and Dotted stamps; Old Olive, Elegant Eggplant, and Whisper White cardstock; Basic Black and Old Olive Classic inks; aquapainter; Old Olive marker; stampin' dimensionals; Spring Moss grosgrain
