Birthday Blues
I needed a masculine birthday card for a friend's birthday this weekend, so I came up with this card. It's usually hard for me to create masculine cards, but this one came together pretty easily. The card base is Night of Navy. This is a color I'm finding myself using a lot lately. I used Sahara Sand cardstock for the main panel. This is my go-to color for men's cards. I embossed it using my Cuttlebug, then rubbed white craft ink over the raised images. This highlights them and really makes them stand out. I used the "Happy Birthday" tag from the Terrific Tag Punch set to make a tag to embellish the front. The tag is punched out with the small tag punch that's found in Stampin' Up!'s current Winter mini catalog, then matted on the regular sized tag punch. It's great that they are selling a smaller punch for layering--it's so much easier (and better-looking) to use a punch!
Materials Used:
From Stampin' Up!: Sahara Sand, Night of Navy, Whisper White cardstock; Sahara Sand and Night of Navy Classic inks; White Craft ink; small and regular tag punches; black grosgrain ribbon; stampin' dimensional

I just love this card!!! It almost makes me want to go out and buy a cuttlebug... Although this is a masculine card I can't think of any female who would not be pleased to recieve it.
