Instead of dry embossing squares on the top layer, I stamped the solid block image with craft ink. The craft ink gave the more opaque look that I wanted. The ink I used is actually Tempting Turquoise, but for some reason, I can't get the color to look quite right in the photo . . .
The butterflies are again stamped in craft ink on vellum, then heat embossed with Iridescent Ice embossing powder. I stuck them to the solid image using glue dots--very quick and not messy at all. And the verdict about the layout--I think it works well either vertically or horizontally!
I came home tonight to find that Cosmo had decimated not just one, but two plastic shopping bags while I was at dinner and services for the Jewish new year. Apparently, he missed me. He has spent the rest of the evening trying to be cute and cuddly since he knows I'm not particularly happy with him right now. I am hoping that he will not start this new year with new health issues from his little snack ! It's been a while since his last medical crisis and I've appreciated the break from expensive vet bills. I guess I'll just have to keep a close eye on him over the next day or two to make sure he's okay . . .
