Yummy!
As promised, here's another yummy cupcake card, this one featuring a preview of a soon to be released stamp set from Kitchen Sink Stamps. The set used on this card is called Happy Birthday Cupcake and will be available (along with three other new sets) on December 3. This is my very first card using the set. I had so much fun with it! I have a bunch of ideas for it, so you'll be seeing more of it in upcoming posts, once I have a chance to do some more stamping.
All the stamping on this card is done using VersaMagic chalk inks. They work beautifully with these photopolymer stamps. You can find them in the Kitchen Sink Stamps store if you want to try a few colors out. I picked the colors I used here for the images to match with the striped paper I wanted to use. The colors kind of remind me of sherbet colors--all those vibrant pastel tones.
I used the smaller of the two cupcake images from the set as the main image on the card. The cupcake image is embellished with some white Liquid Applique mixed with some glitter and a flame of Gold Stickles. The cupcake image nests perfectly inside the bold circle from the set.
Becky Oehlers, another member of the Kitchen Sink Crew (design team) has posted a fantastic project for the month of December. You can find a step by step tutorial for making a set of acrylic coasters here on her blog. These would make great holiday gifts--be sure to check them out.
Materials Used:
Happy Birthday Cupcake and Backgrounds & Borders stamp sets (Kitchen Sink Stamps); Pink Grapefruit, Mango Madness, and Sea Breeze chalk inks (VersaMagic); patterned paper (DCWV's "Everyday" Extreme Paper Pack); ribbon (Michael's Ribbon Jam); brads (Making Memories); giga scalloped circle and super jumbo circle punch, white Liquid Applique (Marvy Uchida); Gold Stickles (Ranger); Groovy Guava, Soft Sky, Regal Rose, and Whisper White cardstock, dimensionals, Dazzling Diamonds, slit punch, Coluzzle (Stampin' Up!)
