Blogger Challenge: Week 34
For this week's challenge, we used the layout of the "happy birthday" card on page 42 of the SU! Spring/Summer Collection. My card for the challenge came together really quickly. It uses one of the sets from the upcoming SU! Occasions Collection mini catalog, In the Stars. I turned the focal point of the layout into a small shaker box--fun!

I stamped the outline star image in Brocade Blue ink on a scrap of Barely Banana cardstock. I discovered that the polka dot star image fits pretty well inside the outline image, so I stamped it inside the outline after stamping off once. I used the scalloped circle punch to punch an opening in a scrap of Brocade Blue cardstock just a little bigger than the piece the stars were stamped on. After lining the cutout with an acetate scrap and some foam tape, I added a bit of silvery star confetti and made the shaker window.
I used Lots of Dots, a new jumbo wheel that will be available in the upcoming Occasions mini catalog, to make a dot pattern on the strip of Rose Red cardstock across the cardfront. Dots are another big trend in the stamping world and this wheel makes it so easy to add them to a cardfront.
