Specials from the Kitchen

There's some big news coming from the Kitchen! In honor of National Scrapbooking Month and Mother's Day, Kitchen Sink Stamps is having a sale. From Wednesday, May 7-Saturday, May 10, use the promotion code MOM to receive a 10% discount on your order. Maria has just reorganized the store, so be sure to check it out.

And, later tonight (10:30 pm, EST), Kitchen Sink Stamps will be featured on Scraptime. If you've ever wondered how those amazing three- and four-step images come together, this demo will show you just how to do that. This great site highlights a variety of creative, crafty techniques. It's a fantastic resource for scrappers and cardmakers. Having a video demo to refer to is so helpful when you're learning something new.

I couldn't share all this fun KSS news without including a card using Kitchen Sink Stamps, could I? I pulled out my very first set to create this spring-feeling Mother's Day card. The daisy images are stamped on a square of shimmery white cardstock. I may go back and add something (maybe a flat backed pearl, maybe some Stickles) to the flower centers . . .

I found a piece of soft yellow paper in a package of Memory Box patterned paper that had just a little bit of red and green in it to coordinate with the flower images. The sentiment is stamped directly on the patterned paper. I added two embellishments to draw out the red and green in the paper. The red heart brad actually started as a white brad--I colored it with a Copic marker to get it to match the red (love that I can do that with the Copics!).

Materials Used:
Daisy set (Kitchen Sink Stamps); Lemon Tart cardstock (Papertrey Ink); So Saffron, More Mustard, Ruby Red, Close to Cocoa, Certainly Celery, and Old Olive Classic inks, Ruby Red, Old Olive, and Shimmery White cardstock (Stampin' Up!); patterned paper (Memory Box Homespun Collection); heart brad (Making Memories); marker (Copic Ciao); celery satin ribbon (Michaels)
