You're an All Star

I used Mercy's sketch challenge to create this fun, masculine card with bold colors and a clean, graphic look. I think it would make a great Father's Day or birthday card. The card incorporates elements from two of the newest stamp sets from Kitchen Sink Stamps--Playful Stars and Baseball.

I really like the graphic look of the starry patterned paper from Scenic Route's Liberty collection and wanted to use that idea in my stamped images. I used a pair of star images to mimic the effect of the paper in reverse. Instead of surrounding the star image with circles, I placed the circle images inside the star by stamping one of the smaller star images inside of the larger outline star images. Quick and easy! I punched out the stars and layered them on slightly larger circles.

The sentiment is from the Baseball set. I thought it would work well paired with the star images. I stamped it in navy ink (but it looks black against the red!) on a long, skinny scrap of paper. I added small white star brads to either end of the sentiment to draw some attention to it. This was such a fun sketch to work with--you may see it again since I have a few other ideas in mind for it . . .

While we're on the subject of Kitchen Sink Stamps, I should remind you that you still have time to enter the first ever Kitchen Sink Stamps monthly contest for a chance to win a KSS stamp set. You can find contest info here.
