Inspired by . . . Baseball??

Last night, my dad and I went to see the Nationals play the Astros. I'll be perfectly honest with you and say that I don't particularly like baseball. I love hockey and really enjoy basketball and football, but baseball, not so much. I guess it just isn't fast-moving enough to keep my attention. Anyway, since the Nats have a brand-new stadium and my dad's office has season tickets, we went to the game to check things out. The Nats actually had a big game. By the time we left in the seventh inning (that's just about enough for me), they had scored 10 runs.

Since baseball was on my mind, I created this fun Nationals inspired card the other day. The card started out using this week's sketch challenge from Our Creative Corner, but because of the size of the bat image, I had to make a few changes to the layout. The red, white, and blue striped paper from Scenic Route matches the team colors, so I started with that for inspiration. I used the Baseball set from Kitchen Sink Stamps. The three step bat image looks so wood-like and real. After I stamped the ball image, I punched it out and attached it to the image panel with a dimensional. The sentiment is stamped in Ruby Red ink to match the striped cardstock. I added a matching photo corner to the top right hand corner of the image panel.

I'll be back later when I can get access to the internet to announce the winner of the blog candy giveaway . . .

Materials Used:
Baseball stamp set (Kitchen Sink Stamps); Dune pigment ink (ColorBox); cream cardstock (Papertrey Ink); Blush Blossom, CReamy Caramel, Close to Cocoa, and Ruby REd Classic inks, Night of Navy, Ruby Red, and Close to Cocoa cardstock, photo corner punch, dimensionals (Stampin' Up!); copper brads (Making Memories); patterned paper (Scenic Route-Liberty line)

  1. Awesome baseball card Lori! I'm with you, I think it's just not a fast enough paced game to watch. Too many lulls in the game...plus it just isn't physical...I like body checking...haha!
