Out on a Limb in Pink

I’m back from a delicious dinner with my best friend at Bonefish Grill--yum! And Kristina’s back too with a new color challenge. This challenge includes some of my most favorite SU! colors—Chocolate Chip, Regal Rose, Pink Pirouette, Certainly Celery, and Very Vanilla.

I thought these colors would work nicely with some of the images from Papertrey Ink’s Out on a Limb stamp set, which I haven’t inked up in a while. I stamped the branch in Chocolate Chip Classic ink on a Very Vanilla panel, then stamped the leaves and berries in craft inks for a really vibrant, rich look. I layered the stamped image on a pair of pink panels. The darker pink panel has distressed edges to add a little texture to the card. I placed the panel on the cardfront at an angle—a little different for me, but I like how it looks here.

I used a piece of the new Patterns designer paper in Pink Pirouette to make a panel for the lower portion of the cardfront. I really like the patterns in this collection! There were a few in last year’s Prints Series pack that I just couldn’t get to work for me, so I have lots (and lots!) of those pieces left over. I don’t think that will be a problem with these papers.

I stamped one of the sentiments from the set on a scrap of Pink Pirouette paper and punched it out with a 1 ¾” circle punch. It’s layered on a scalloped circle panel that’s slightly larger, then attached to the cardfront with dimensionals. I am loving these new felt flower colors and since they match the challenge colors, I wanted to come up with a way to fit them in. So, they were a last minute add on to the sentiment panel.
