Unity Challenge: Week 5
This week’s Unity Stamp Co. customer challenge is brought to us by Sherry. Her challenge was to use paper piecing on our cards.
I thought about using Giggle Grove with its awesome tree images for this challenge, but I decided that would be too easy of a choice. I went with two of the animal images from Wild & Crazy Bunch instead. There are lots of options for paper piecing with these images. I stamped the elephant and giraffe images on scraps of SU!’s Prints Series designer papers to piece together the images. Since I had a request to make some baby cards, I went with soft, baby-like colors. They turned out so cute! I set the animals on a yellow panel with a sponge dauber-ed layer of grass at the bottom.
I found a piece of striped patterned paper in a Debbie Mumm paper collection that coordinated nicely with the colors on the card and had stripes like the paper pieced animals, too. The sentiment is stamped on a circle and embellished with a trio of button brads. The button brads were a last-minute addition to the card and another fun way to tie all the colors together.
You can see what the other Unity Challenge Girls have created using paper piecing by visiting their blogs or the Unity member company forum on SCS. Links to their blogs are found in the sidebar on the right.
Materials Used:
