Haiku Posy

I made this pretty card for Beate's weekend sketch challenge. I used the Posy set from Kitchen Sink Stamps for the focal image. I stamped the 5 step posy image in shades of red and pink on shimmery white cardstock. I find that these images are really easy to line up and stamp beautifully. I masked the flower with a sticky note so that I could add the leaf (a 3 step image). The flower image is embellished with some clear Stardust glitter pen (the more sparkle the better, right?) and a self-adhesive pearl, too.

I used a piece of SU!'s Haiku designer paper for the panel on the cardfront. I am really liking the patterns in this collection. I matted it with a piece of Purely Pomegranate cardstock to coordinate with the colors in the flower image. I stamped the "thankful" sentiment in matching Purely Pomegranate ink on a Pink Pirouette cardstock panel. I added a pair of brads along the right side of the sentiment strip, then attached it to the card along with a wide piece of mossy green grosgrain ribbon.

It's supposed to be a dreary, rainy day here today. After I finish my errands in the morning, I plan to get a lot of stamping done along with cheering on my favorite college team in football (afternoon) and hockey (evening). I realized that the Badger football team's losing streak coincided with when I removed Cosmo's Wisconsin bandana for a bath. I think I'll replace it tomorrow in hopes of helping them turn their luck around . . .

Materials Used:
Posy and Vintage Words stamp sets (Kitchen Sink Stamps); Pink Pirouette, Purely Pomegranate, Cranberry Crisp Classic, Kiwi Kiss, and Always Artichoke Classic inks, Pink Pirouette, Purely Pomegranate, and Shimmery White cardstock, Haiku designer paper, dimensionals (Stampin' Up!); circle and scalloped circle dies (Nestabilities); Ripe Avocado Palette ink, Ripe Avocado cardstock (Papertrey Ink) copper brads (Making Memories); moss grosgrain ribbon (Morex); clear Stardust pen (Sakura); self-adhesive pearl (Target)
