Join Me on Another Planet

Paper Craft Planet, that is. The inhabitants are all just like you . . . devoted fans of all things paper craft related. Paper Craft Planet is an online community for papercrafters that is filled with many familiar faces and a stellar amount of inspiration including tutorials, videos, photos, and links to all things paper crafting! Susanna Boyd, of Card-of-the-week.com fame began this awesome site several months back and the site is growing by leaps and bounds every day.

There are great things ahead for this growing site, including weekly challenges (including PRIZES), an awesome gallery, tutorials, videos, and a budding design team (wink . . .) as we share this craft we all love.

So, why not stop by and join in the fun? Just click hereto be transported to a crafty place that's out of this world! (While you're there, get registered! Then click on My Page to send me a Friends Invite so we can stay hooked up!) See you on the Planet!

And, in keeping with the space theme, I have a star-filled card to share with you tonight. I designed it using Beate's weekend sketch challenge.

I used the round "happy birthday" image from Starring You as the main image here. It's layered on a scalloped circle punch and attached to the cardfront with dimensionals.

The colors for the card came from the striped paper from the Washington Apple designer paper pack. I created a vellum overlay for the patterned panel. The overlay features the Classic Stars wheel, stamped in white craft ink. This is a fun way to add a subtle design to a card. Since there's a solid paper band across the panel that the vellum is layered on, it was easy to hide the adhesive used to attach the vellum here.

Materials Used (all from Stampin' Up!):
Starring You stamp set, Classic Stars Jumbo Wheel and handle, Bashful Blue Classic ink, White Craft ink, Pumpkin Pie, Bashful Blue, So Saffron, and Whisper White cardstock, vellum, Washington Apple designer paper, scallop circle punch, scallop edge punch, mat pack and paper piercing tool, Pumpkin Pie grosgrain ribbon, dimensionals
