Sketches {by Tamara}: Recipe 22

It's time for another recipe challenge from Sketches {by Tamara}.This week's required ingredients were 1-2 patterned papers, some form of embossing, and a charm.

I got some gorgeous paper and ribbon from i {heart} papers last week and knew it would be perfect for this challenge. I love the look of the patterned papers from Sassafras Lass--I'm not sure exactly what it is that draws me to these papers, but there's definitely something. Here, I paired the brown and blue sunburst pattern of Pinstripes paper (it's pin-striped on the other side, I swear!) with a Swiss Dot embossed panel.

I wrapped a piece of this amazingly soft faux suede brown ribbon, also from IHP, around the front of the panel. I can't wait to get my hands on more of this stuff! I found a blue charm in my stash that matches the shape of the sunbursts on the patterned paper--just perfect. I used a piece of twine to attach it throught the knot in the ribbon.

I must admit that this is actually version 2 of this card. The one on Tamara's blog doesn't have a knot in the ribbon--that was a late change, made after the deadline for getting my card's photo to her. I like the addition of the knot. It makes the card a little more masculine looking, doesn't it?

Be sure to stop by Tamara's blog to check out the other creations made with this recipe. And, I mentioned last week that the i {heart} papers DT members would be taking turns offering blog candy all through the month of November. Stop by Carolyn's and Amber's blogs for a chance to win.

I'll be back later today after I vote and run a few errands . . .
